My first life-shattering discovery of 2010

I have been a doubter of a certain something for the past few years. Something that has taken the U.S. by storm . . . UGGS.

The college I went to became infested with these my freshman year, and I never really got it. They look kinda goofy, and really only "go" with a few outfits . . . I thought.

Lately my toes have been going a little crazy, and per doctors' advice it is of vital importance that I keep my feet warm. To do this I was instructed to find shoes and socks that are wool, not "that synthetic crap."

Guess what type of shoes meet the order? Uggs. (or the like)

A couple days after I decided I would go on the hunt for these silly things my mom texted me a picture (she's high tech like that) of a pair of Emu boots (Uggs identical twin) at TJ Maxx for $30—gotta love the Maxx.

I reluctantly gave the order to buy them, and a few days after that they were on my feet.

It only took a couple hours in my emus for my worldview to shift. I've been wearing these boots for practically 2 weeks straight! Never have my feet been so warm! I can go outside in these suckers with no socks in 5degree weather and my feet are still toasty.

It's not the biggest revelation in the world, but my feet are happy. And now I understand why everyone is always wearing these silly looking things and forking over $$ for them.

Told you it wasn't that interesting. But I was so happy about this I just had to share :)

Towing the line, threading the needle, thinkin outside the box . . .

. . . and other such things.

I'm still trying with reckless fervor to figure this whole monster of a site out. If there is anyone in the world who is looking at this right now. Consider yourselves unbelievably blessed because in a year or so you're going to be able to say "I was reading Now Hear This! when she didn't know what in sam's hill she was doing."

And that should be very satisfying. Kinda like when you really really get to say "I told you so." We probably shouldn't relish those moments . . . but be honest, we do. Am I being a bad influence? Ok well I have to go anyway. Today, I leave you with this intriguing image.

Why am I so serious? Where am I navigating to? What is the green lamp about? Why am I wearing two sweatshirts? And how in the name of all is good does my forehead manage to be that big?!?!?!?!

Leaves are changing

The leaves are changing in my neighborhood. Which means that it won't be too long until Reid will be begging me to give Christmas music a rest.

I'll say: "No way!"
He'll say: "Please?"
I'll say: "Sorry, but no. And I'm really not that sorry/"
He'll shake his head and say: "You really are a piece of work."
Then I'll remind him with the cutest smile I can muster: "Hey, you picked me! You knew what you were getting into."
He'll sigh and say: "Boy it's a good thing you're cute."

Then I'll turn my Christmas music back on :)

Gotta love Husband Reid, and Christmas music.

And of course the fall leaves.
